Secure use of banking services

We are a bank licensed in the European Union, registered in Lithuania and regulated by the Bank of Lithuania, and the security of your money is our top priority.

We have developed a convenient self-service system and are connected to secure international payment systems – SWIFT, SEPA, TARGET2.

We are constantly improving our services to make it as easy and safe as possible for our clients to transact in euros or other currencies.

Secure use of the bank’s services also depends on you, so it is important to become familiar with the basic rules below and follow them:

Never disclose your online bank user ID, passwords for your online bank, Smart-ID or mobile e-signature to anyone over the phone, on social networks or by email.

Recently, it has become increasingly common for scammers to try to obtain log-ins over the phone by posing as employees of banks, police, the Financial Crimes Investigation Service, the Special Investigation Service, Sodra or other state bodies, or employers offering attractive jobs. Don’t give in to psychological pressure – don’t disclose confidential information over the phone, by text message or email, because no one has the right to demand it. The bank will never ask you disclose confidential data by phone or email such as password or PIN codes.

Check website links carefully – scammers often create an almost identical online bank login page, but the link will always differ from the real one by at least one letter or symbol.

Do not write down, email, text message or otherwise share or save codes and passwords used to unlock your computer or phone.

Where possible, use two-factor authentication services (2FA), create complex passwords that are difficult to guess, remember them and change them regularly. When creating your PINs, choose random combinations. Do not use combinations such as 1111, 1234, your year of birth, address numbers, other personal or easily guessed information.

Protect the computer you use to connect to online banking:

  • Install a trusted, legal antivirus software, update your software regularly and use the latest browser versions.
  • Security vulnerabilities in operating systems and other software are often found, allowing scammers to gain unauthorised access to other people’s computers and systems. Hackers exploit these vulnerabilities, so manufacturers continuously make adjustments to their products to ensure they are secure and to fix any vulnerabilities they find. So make sure that the operating system and other software you use are up to date. Do not use software that is no longer up-to-date, such as Internet Explorer 6.

If you have received a message on your phone from your login device to enter your password, but you are not currently connected to the online bank, ignore it. Do the same if you receive a request to confirm a money transfer when you are not making any transfer at the time.

Always read password notifications from your login device carefully before confirming. Take your time and never rush when entering confirmation codes for transactions.

IMPORTANT:

PIN1 / sPIN1 code – used to authenticate your identity when accessing Online Banking (“Payments” or “Deposits & Loans”).

PIN2 / sPIN2 code – used to authenticate payment transactions (when authorising transfers from your account, signing documents or contracts, etc.).

If you notice a security breach or vulnerability in the bank’s services, or if you receive a suspicious email,, please notify us immediately by phone +370 5 240 9389 or by email support@mano.bank.

Regularly review your account statements.

If you spot any suspicious transactions, inform us immediately.

Do not click on links received by email, SMS or chat unless you are sure they are genuine.

Always check the sender’s details — even a single character difference can indicate fraud. Never provide or dictate your internet banking login details to anyone. Before confirming any transaction, carefully review and enter your passwords.
